Dorene Calmus has been in the field of social work for 36 years, with 14 of those years in an inpatient psychiatric setting for adolescents with chronic mental health and trauma issues. In her several years at MFCS she has been working with children, teens, adults, and families, and has an extensive practice with trauma related issues, including sexual trauma. An active participant in the therapeutic process, she provides insight, feedback, and thoughtful questions to assist individuals to recognize their strengths, utilize their coping skills, and reclaim their voice in order to lead a more fulfilled affirmative life.
