Penny Brown has many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, providing individual counseling as well as parent guidance when working with children. In addition to her private practice, Penny has experience in residential care as well as in a community mental health clinic in Boston where she saw individual clients and families ran children’s groups, provided clinical supervision to staff and trainees, consulted with public and parochial schools, and coordinated a 3-bed DMH and DCF funded a 3-bed shelter care program for children. Currently, Penny works with a diverse population of clients ranging from children to geriatric adults struggling with mood disorders, OCD, ADD, grief, chronic illness, and self-esteem issues. She is flexible in her approach, including psychodynamic, behavioral, and family systems methods. In her effort to build a strong therapeutic relationship with each of her clients Penny is empathic, collaborative, and supportive, doing outreach, and using humor when appropriate. Penny recently closed her private practice in Milford and joined Milford-Franklin Counseling.
