Melissa Whitehouse is director of MFCS. She has more than 30 years of experience working with adults, providing individual therapy, couple counseling and parent guidance. She has worked in both private practice and community mental health settings. Her areas of special interest include grief counseling, adoptions, and infertility issues, as well as physical illness. She also has experience treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, ACOA issues, and adult ADD. Her therapeutic style is client centered, warm and supportive, focusing on the unique needs and personality of each individual. She uses eclectic methods, incorporating psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and family systems approaches to treatment. She is flexible and welcomes client feedback and collaboration, in order to promote comfort and safety within the therapeutic relationship.
