Emily has several years of experience counseling adults, couples and children in a variety of settings including community mental health, in-home therapy, school based outpatient therapy and private practice. While working in the field, Emily has obtained extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), strategies to help multi-stressed families and strategies and to help students with challenges in the school setting. Emily strives to have a person-centered, strengths based approach when working with individuals and families. Emily enjoys helping women transition through the the perinatal period and supporting individuals who struggle with infertility. Emily also has experience working with children, adults and families, to help support individuals with mood disorders, ADHD and adjustment to life transitions. Evidence based practices (CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing) are the basis for her treatment and other modalities such as mindfulness and play therapy may be incorporated as is appropriate. Emily believes in creating a warm and respectful atmosphere in which she can work collaboratively with clients to help achieve goals of wellness.
