Melissa Baratta, LICSW is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has been working for over twenty years with individuals, families, and couples from adolescence through geriatrics and enjoys working with a wide variety of issuesincluding anxiety disorders, mood disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, parenting concerns, communication issues and substance related issues. Her clinical approach is centered around, though not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to help people understand their thoughts and patterns and then make healthy, practical decisions to move forward in a productive and fulfilling way. Using these strategies, she seeks to help her clients understand how the way they interpret situations and the messages they tell themselves can contribute to problematic outcomes and how rewriting these patterns can lead to a healthier and more balanced life experience. Her style is interactive and supportive, with a dose of humor whenever appropriate, as laughter can often be a powerful tool. Melissa believes that given the right support, direction and commitment, anyone can change the current course of his or her life.
